How to enable or disable efficiency mode in Microsoft Edge

Enabling or disabling efficiency mode in Microsoft Edge

After enabling this mode, you may notice a slight decrease in browser speed. This is because your browser is trying to fully utilize your existing battery. However, if you have a good CPU, you may not notice a very slight decrease. To enable this feature, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Open the Edge browser.

Step 2: Click the horizontal point in the upper right corner of the window. This will open the “Settings” menu. (You can also access this menu using the shortcut keys Alt+F.).

Step 3: Select the settings option from the menu.

Step 4: Click on the System and Performance Options in the left tab.

Step 5: In the “Optimize Performance” section, you will see a drop-down menu next to “Turn on Efficiency Mode”. Select the desired option from the drop-down menu. You can choose to turn on efficiency mode when the battery is low, always on, not plugged in, or never on.
